The federal Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) average net price estimates the typical out-of-pocket costs for first-year, full-time, degree-seeking undergraduates (beginners) awarded gift aid (excluding private gift aid). This figure is calculated for each campus and represents the difference between the weighted average IPEDS cost of attendance and the average IPEDS gift aid from federal, State of Indiana, and IU sources. Its goal is to provide a basis for comparing the affordability of universities.
